Considering we bought it for under £1000, it's been surprisingly good. The broken diff it was advertised with turned out to be nothing. The steering had 90 degrees of play in it from 50,000 offroad miles on jacked up suspension. We adjusted it and subsequently broke it. We finally managed to find a replacement steering box for it (they're like hen's teeth and the old one just wouldn't come apart). It's so damn close to being back on the road. It's just an exhaust gasket away (at the moment, it sort of gasses you as you drive along). Then I can get an oppo review up :)

It's a '96, but you couldn't tell the difference if you tried :)

As soon as it's on the road I'm going to go out mudding with my mate's Defender.
I'll get a winch too so I can winch out his decadent capitalist Land Rover with my stalwart communist Lada :)

Watch the winch armature fail because the wiring was supplied by alleged wreckers and Kulaks.

'Lightweight welding jacket', 'welding gloves', 'leather apron'. What is this, cookery class?
Try short sleeve shirt (in the summer), jeans full of holes* and fingerless gloves.
That's more like it :)
*like these, but with naturally formed holes and less structural integrity
